Fall Gentlemen's Flag Football at Seattle Center Sundays

In a narrow 13-12 escape, Herman Chiang led the way for Indy #1. This early season victory for Indy #1 cannot be undervalued. Indy teams generally tend to improve more than any others as the season progresses and if Indy #1 can get some early wins, it will really help their playoff position.

A lot of information was learned about the Fall 2005 Gentlemen's Sundays Seattle Center league this past week. Some undefeated teams lost, some winless teams won and some classic USL Gentlemen's teams went head to head for a 2003 throwback game. The match-up of the Bandits vs. eY GUY! pitted two teams that at one time held USL dynasties in the early 2000s. Team eY GUY! leads the head to head series 23-20, but the last time these two teams met, the Bandits pulled out a squeaker in the semifinals of the 2003 spring championship. The Bandits went on to win the championship and an ensuing leave of absence. Last Sunday, with some of the faces changed, these teams battled to a 32-38 brawl in favor of eY GUY!. The victory was due in large part to the quick-footed play of Chris "Skinny" Hill. Skinny had four sacks and put constant pressure on a speedy quarterback. Skinny also added some key catches to keep eY GUY! on top down the stretch. Nice job Skinny.

Although the final week of the regular season was filled with impressive individual performances, no one looked as good while doing it as Blake Garfield of E.S.U. Wolfpack. Blake, the leader of the Wolfpack, led them to a 38-38 tie against the MudDogs. He threw 6 TDs and had 2 interceptions at key moments of the game. As if that wasn't impressive enough, he also wore a head band, which he also used as a neck band, two wrist bands, two bicep bands, and two knee bands. Pretty smooth Blake, pretty smooth.

Chris Moeller captained Feed the Hawks to another USL Men's Hardcore Championship, this time over Red Ox. Feed the Hawks seem almost untouchable when Chris is on point. This past Sunday, he has 4 passing TDs and 2 rushing TDs to finish off Da Fam in the Semifinals. He didn't stop there; he also had a QB rating over 100 in the Championship game against Red Ox. Chris has stunning field vision and know when to tuck the ball away and take off. Great job Chris, add another shirt to your collection.
