What league is this?

Holy cow what a match this was! Indecisive and The Net Prophets clearly were meant to be in the championship ring after what they showed tonight. From both sides of the court came smart shots, hard kills, sneaky aces, diving saves and sweet assists. It’s hard to put a finger on any one thing that made the match go the way it did as both teams worked as well oiled machines. Game one ended in a crazy long string of back and forth points. They went all the way to a 30-28 score, in favor of The Net Prophets. During this streak very few were caused by a missed serve, but by a great kill or smart shot by a front row, or back row, player.
On the Indecisive side both Emily and James were major contributors. Emily has a great eye of the court which allowed her to hit the right spot on the court many times throughout the match. James took a slightly different, but equally effective, approach by smashing it through/around/over the block to find the hard wood. From The Net Prophets I have to give best offense props to both Karly and Nick. On top of being a super scrappy defender, Karly has a mean streak at the net that makes me wonder whose face is on that ball. Then there is Nick. In every match I have watched, he can be seen jumping to attack from any part of the court, and 99% of the time his target is reach with maximum force. With all of these great attackers you have to chalk it up to the great defenders who hustle and dive to get every touch possible. And of course the setters deserve the biggest credit as they form the solid base of the team.
After all of the craziness of game one, the match wound down to some normal scoring, but still exciting rallies. At this point many of the next hours players were walking in and I could hear all kinds of comments that usually started with “Wow!” The teams continued their battle into a third exciting game with the tie breaker going to Indecisive.

Rallies for Days

The match between Notorious D.I.G. and Schweaty Sets was a fun one to watch. Through every single game they had many loooong rallies that left people huffing, puffing and cheering all at once. After a quick reminder about not touching the net, the teams showed that they knew the game of volleyball and they knew it quite well. While there were certainly a number of quick one-overs, both sides had many strings of bump, set, spike combinations that made the team excited no matter if they got the point in the end or not. On top of some great play, Notorious and Schweaty Sets had fun attitudes that included tons of laughter and joking, even while playing.
In game one, there was a long streak of back and forth points to finish the game and with a final score of 28-26, Notorious walked away with cheer on the faces. Schweaty Sets did not look defeated but more like a hungry pack looking for revenge. Game two was another close one, but it seems neither team was ready to stop playing as this win went to Schweaty Sets. Tied up at one to one and all eyes on the coveted Champs shirts; this game meant war. There were aces, there were kills and there was a whole lot of hustle coming from both sides of the court. But who walked away with the victory, you ask? … Schweaty Sets!!

The Real World...Underdog Style

This is the true story… about seven strangers… picked to be on a team…to work together and play volleyball…to find out what happens…when people band together…and show what their made of… At the beginning of the season the name Indy #6 was the only thing that Ashley, Roxanne, Chase, Rene, Eva, Lindsey & Alessandro had in common. After week one they came together to decide on a team name and from there they were as one. They went 4 & 2 in the regular season putting them at number 1 for the bracket. In the first round of playoffs they faced off against Face Ace who gave them one of their 2 losses, but this time they pulled out with the win. After that they had one goal in mind, to show they are a team made of… Champions!
