Morning Missiles came into the playoffs only losing one game in the regular season. Just watching them play, you knew they had a chance to go all the way from the get go. In the first round of the playoffs, Morning Missiles took care of "Team Meier" with ease, winning 3-0. This set up a great championship match up against "Casual Encounters."

In a game that proved to have the top two teams in the league, it was far from disappointing. "Casual Encounter" came out on fire, capitalizing on "Morning Missiles" errors. After being down 9-14, Ben went on beast mode at the net. Block after block from Ben set a spark in Morning Missiles as they started to chip away at the lead, eventually taking the lead late in the first set. Ben wasn't done yet as he finished off the game with his booming spikes to stop any chance of a "Casual Encounter" comeback. Morning Missiles won 25-22 for the first set.

The Morning Missiles were just on fire coming into the second set as everyone started to get into the action. The defense was flawless, as each player covered one another moving with great fluidity. Jenny killed it with her bumps and digs, demoralizing the opposition as she wouldn't let a single point fall. Ian joined in the fun as his attacks were incredible. Ian was out jumping everybody in the gym tonight. Rachel, Karyn and Matt were dynamic as they covered the whole floor to keep "Casual Encounters" to only 11 points for the whole second set.

This amazing bunch of players took this league by storm starting from their defensive end. After they got going defensively, the Morning Missiles pounded their opponents to the ground through the air. Congratulations Morning Missiles!

Strong Finish

A 3-3 record does not do Volleyball: The Freedom of the Balls justice, as they showed to be much more impressive than their record says. Falling early in the season to some close games, "Volleyball: TFB" came on strong at the end of the season winning two in a row going into the playoffs.

After cruising through the first round of the playoffs, "Flo's Heroes" stood in the way for a championship. Only problem was, "Volleyball: TFB" was cruising through with a bulldozer as they won in dominating fashion. "Flo's Heroes" is a great team, but the unselfish play and the talent of "Volleyball: TFB" was too much to handle.

Kelsey has been solid throughout the whole season as she proves week in and week out that she is the best setter around. All of her sets were flawless making life easy for Seth to crush the ball with his dominating spikes. Seth wasn't the only one with amazing aerial attacks, Erika proved that she could hold her own on the net with great spikes and tips. Michael was incredible at defense as he contested everything at the net and showed never ending hustle on the court. Candice was the key player that continually started all the attacks, passing the ball with perfection to the setter no matter how difficult it was to receive from the opposition. To round out this complete package was Austin. The utility man could do it all whether he was at the net or in the back row. His spiking was great and his passing was incredible, but his serving was dominant.

Amazing season Volleyball: The Freedom of the Balls! This championship was well deserved for such a great team.
