This weekend, Blood, Bath & Beyond created a blood bath of flag football teams at Memorial Stadium. They ran through the weekend undefeated, as their combination of stingy defense and high-powered offense led to a championship.
They almost lost their undefeated record in just the first game as Thunder Gun Express gave them a stiff test. In the end though, Thunder Gun wasn't able to pick up that last touchdown and two-pointer to pick up the tie.
In bracketed play on Sunday, they started out with a low-scoring game where their defense was the difference, holding a West Canaan team that had put up 54 points in a game the day before to only one touchdown.
That was followed by a close game against CZ Fitness. The Blood Bath defense had an early stop in the 2nd half that turned into a two score lead. CZ had a chance to come back and make it a one score game mid-way through the second half, but Blood Bath came through with a huge two-point conversion stop to keep the game at a distance.
The Championship game came down to them and Haywire, who had won on a late two-point conversion stop themselves in the semi-final. The last three times these two teams had met up, Haywire had picked up the wins all in league play over the past year. This included a playoff victory last January. So, Blood Bath was out for more blood. They would get their revenge in picking up the 32-18 win for the championship.

On Sunday How's My Dictate continued their win streak in the needlebowl, putting their undefeated streak up to 10. After putting up a 5-0 record in 2011, they followed up with an identical record, using an explosive offense that never scored less than 40 points.
After putting up back to back 50 point games in their first 2, it was nuff said's defense that would finally find a couple of small holes in the Dictate offense and they would hold them to 40 points.
On day 2, they would go back to being a super-powered offense, putting up a Seahawks-like 58 points in the semi-finals.
In the championship game, nuff said used what they had learned in the first match-up to keep the game close. The Dictate defense looked a little fatigued in giving up the most points that they had all tournament, but their offense held up, putting up 48 points to win the championship.
