Ravenna Gentlemen's - Sundays [SUM 04]

In yet another thrilling opening day of Underdog Football the game of the day had to be between the Kodiaks and Frank the Tank. Two of the better teams in our league went at if for forty minutes of great execution. Art Brown's sheer grit and determination was just enough to propell the Kodiaks to a 35-34 victory. Dont look now but we may see these teams meet again in the playoffs, and if we do, we can only hope that their performance matches what we saw on Sunday.

Once again Brian Carter showed why he is a standout player on one of the best teams and the defending Spring League Champions, "Who's Man Was That?". Brian was involved on three separate scoring plays and nearly a fourth that you had to see to believe. He always seemed to be in the right place at the right time including a tipped ball that hung up in the air above the endzone for what seemed like an eternity, and when the ball came down in ended up in Brian's hands. When asked about the play after the game Brian indicated that it was nothing that he had not done before and that there were performances he had made in the past that made his spectacular play on Sunday seem ordinary.

One game of glory was not enough for Ruben Kizer this past Sunday. In two games Ruben was involved on too many scoring plays to count. His passes zipped through the air like those of John Elway's and his play on defense was stellar. That is why Ruben Kizer is the Underdog Sports Leagues player of the week.

After weeks of solid performances Jay Saiki had yet another brilliant game in the No Limit Soljahs 33-14 victory over Frank The Tank. Without Jay the Soljahs are solid but with Jay they are a contender for the Underdog Sports Leagues Summer Football Men's championship.
