Evelyn Sanchez
Ball Smackers
Evelyn Sanchez of the Ball Smackers turned in a great defensive play on Wednesday in her teams 8-2 season opening win. The young second basemen made a great catch on a pop up with an added degree of difficulty. Evelyn had to compete with her own teammate for the catch, as a greedy first basemen tried to steal her glory by straying far from his position. But Evelyn held her ground, boxing out him like Charles Barkley grabbing a rebound, and made the catch. Great job, Evelyn!

Ball Smackers
Picture it: your team is up to kick in the last half of the seventh inning down by one run in a 12 - 11 high scoring contest. The team comes through to tie up the score and then you're up to bat with two outs and bases loaded. This was Evelyn's story this week as she was the savior of the Ball Smackers. Evelyn came up to the plate with the ability to make the come-from-behind victory a reality. She bunted the first pitch she saw perfectly between the pitcher and second base. The pitcher had speed that made the play close at first but Evelyn had turned on the afterburners to get her to first safely and cap a banner start to a double header for Ball Smackers. Congratulations to Evelyn for her walk off winner!

Jacob Buchholz
Ball Smackers
Jake had some stellar plays in the outfield and was absolutely dominant with his kicks. He had multiple key RBI's that kept the game out of reach for their opponents. And just when their opponents thought they had a chance with some strong kicks to the outfield, he snatched them up, crushing their hopes of a glorious comeback. All around just played like a true stud. It was a unanimous decision to make him player of the game and therefore an easy choice for player of the week. Great job Jake!

Something is better than Nothing
Going into the bottom of the 7th inning the Ball Smackers were done by a few runs. They worked to get back into the game with the last kicks they had. Jacob Buchholz was the one to come up in the clutch. He kicked in the game typing RBI and was able to get his team a tie game rather than a loss. None of us like games to end in a tie, but this could make a difference later on in the season. This earned Jacob Player of the Week honors.

Timely Kicking
For this week Marcus Annable has earned Player of the Week honors. He contributed a timely double which drove in a couple of runs and really opened up the game for his team. Along with multiple hits and great defense Marcus was able to help carry his team to victory.

Kick of the Night
In a dominating performance Nation of Deflation imposed their will throughout the game. One of the most memorable moments of the game was when Michael Wilson kicked a homerun and that also drove in some RBI's. This was the kick of the night and also earned Michael Player of the Week honors.

Defensive Force
Kick Yo Couch won by a good margin and the game was never really in doubt. The key performance that led them to Victory was Matt Elliot. If there was a gold glove award in kickball Matt earned with the multiple putouts he had at third base as well as amazing throws to first base. Offensively he also contributed with good kicks and even better base running. This is why Player of the Week honors have been given to Matt.
Kick Yo Couch was able to come out on top as victors and take home the championship. They played great kickball all day, but the best performance came from Amy LeFurgy. She had multiple diving catches and was a black hole in the outfield. Anything that came her way was going to be caught. Pairing this together with the work she did at the plate, her performance was dominating to say the least. This is why she has earned Player of the Week honors.
