I'd Hit That Emerges from the Pile

Out of one of the most balanced and competitive divisions in Underdog history, I'd Hit That emerged with back to back wins on Thursday to grab the championship.

They started out against Rolling Scones in the first round. After a 21-14 I'd Hit That win in the first game, the Rolling Scones jumped out to early leads of 5-1 and 10-4. I'd Hit That would quickly answer though, going on a 6-1 run to close the score. After trading points up to 15, I'd Hit That took over, finishing off the match for a 21-17 win.

The championship match started out similarly for them. Matched up against a Red Balls of Fire team that had also won in two games, they fell into another early hole with Red Balls scoring the first 7 points of the match. I'd Hit That would claw their way back, to within one point at 15-14, but couldn't repeat their earlier magic and fell in their first game 21-16.

The roles reversed in the second game of the match. They jumped out to a quick lead at 4-0 before ripping off runs of 8 points and 6 points. At one point leading by 9 points, they closed out for a 21-14 win to even out the match and send it to a decisive 3rd game.

They kept their momentum in the 3rd game, leaving Red Balls in an early hole that they couldn't recover from at 11-3. Red Balls couldn't mount much offense for the rest of the game as I'd Hit That won going away at 21-8.

Three Headed Monster Wins Championship

On Thursday, the Bumble Bees went into the Midcore championship at a disadvantage. After winning in the previous round with only 3 players, they would need to win with 3 one more time.

After going into the playoffs as the bottom seed, the Bumble Bees were able to scrap together a run to the championship.

The first set was a hard fought back and forth game. neither team was able to put together a big run as the score see-sawed back and forth. The biggest lead for either team was 3 points at 8-5 until the Bumble Bees ran off a 5-0 run to end the game and pull out the win.

In game two, Beer 30 would answer though. The game started out the same way as the first, with the score staying within 2 points. Then before the Bumble Bees knew what hit then, Beer 30 had won 21-10 behind a big 11-2 run.

With the match evened up at one, the match settled back into it's previous rhythm. Neither team was able to pull away, with tie scores at 3,8,13, and 17. Indy finally took the torch and ran with it though at 17-17. they would score the last 4 points of the match to take home the championship.
