Early Summer Co-ed Beach Volleyball at Alki Mondays

Every great team has a great captain to lead them to victory and Nick Wichert is that captain. Leading his team in kills and blocks, Nick is a force to be reckoned with at the net! Whether the set is too tight or too far off the net there better be a block up if Nick is hitting! Helping his team win 5 out of the 6 of their games!

Pass-setting is really difficult, especially doing it consistently. It's especially important on the beach to guarantee a clean set. Kristen has definitely mastered this skill! Even after j-stroking it off the net Kristen was able to give a perfect, clean set to her hitters. Your timing on the beach is totally different from playing indoors and Kristen realizes this because she always makes sure she gives her hitters enough time to approach so they can smash the ball!! With Kristen's great sets, Monkey Lovers were able to pull away with the win!

Monday night was one to remember for Will Work for Sets, and particularly Ellie Ostrand. On top of accurately disclosing her name, which qualified her for Player of the Week honors, she had a good couple of games as well! In a hotly contested semi-final against Schwetty Sets, Ellie was the team leader in putting balls away and in keeping her teammates in good spirits as the rain kept coming down. In the final, Ellie was gracious enough to pass on Player of the Game to "Lauren James", who unfortunately couldn't be found in our database. However, big props go to "her" as well!
