In a game won in dramatic fashion in extras innings, Kristin made several great plays in LF to keep the game close. Saving at least 3 runs, Kristin insured that her team was within striking distance for their 6th inning rally to tie the score at 8.

Cindy Larson
Wheelhouse DMG SEOHawks
Cindy had a great attitude during both games on Thursday! She did great behind the plate and was willing to learn and help her team succeed! In the last inning of Game 1, Cindy had a clutch single with 2 RBI's that helped her team continue the inning! In Game 2, Cindy hit a lead off single to get her team started on a great inning! Cindy is a great representation of the Underdog motto and demonstrates how to compete in a fun environment!
All About That Base played a doubleheader on Wednesday and Mike S. was a big reason for his team taking back-to-back victories on Wednesday night. In Game #1 with his club down 6-2 early in the 3rd inning, Mike came to the plate with the bases juiced. Mike sat back on a breaking ball and cranked the ball over the right field fence for his first grand slam of the season, tying the ball game at 6 all. Mike would tack on another 2-run dinger later in the 6th, leading his team to a one run, 15-14 victory over Beach Balls Deep. In the night capper, Mike yanked another long bomb while pitching another complete game, helping his team take another close victory, a 15-13 win over the Rain City Washouts.
On the same night as the MLB Homerun Derby, All About That Base and Rain City Washouts, put on a show of their own. Evan, of All About That Base homered from both sides of the plate, but it was Brooke for Rain City who stole the show by cranking 2 homers herself while also hitting for the cycle. But even Brooke's cycle and amazing catch in the outfield wasn't enough to overcome All About That Base's firepower who walked about with a 5 run victory, behind several homers and great defense.

Jennie Crooks
Base-ic Pitches
Jennie exemplified the spirit of Underdog with her pleasant chatter from the catcher position. Jennie kindly welcomed each opposing batter to home and gave them tips and pointers on where the weak spots were in the field. Way to be a fun sport, Jennie!

Watch Out, Other Field!
This week at Interbay, Chase of Rain City Washouts provided the most epic moment of the game. Mid-game, he hit a towering ball to center that would have certainly gone out had it been right field. Instead, the ball rolled so far that it got onto the other diamond, and into the other dugout! Wow! For his amazing hit, Chase is our player of the week. Congratulations!
Base-ic Pitches had a thriller first round playoff game on Monday evening, winning a close one in 7 innings by a score of 7-4. A major reason for the victory was Jim C. who was also celebrating his birthday on this fine summer day. With his team nursing a slim lead late in the game, Jim cranked an inside-the-park homer, giving his squad some breathing room in the final inning as they completed their first payoff win of the season. Jim finished the game 3-4 with 2 RBI, earning our POW honors.
They say defense wins championships, and on Wednesday night, Evan C. from All About That Base proved that theory to be true. Evan did some nice things with the bat, but the glove at SS is what really had the other teams moaning and groaning anytime they were about to rally with a big inning. In Wednesday's championship game, Evan looked like he had a pogo stick out there, making 2 incredible leaping catches that stopped the bleeding in an important inning. On top of that, Evan turned a couple of double plays and nearly threw out a runner from his backside on another play. Evan's championship level defense set the tone early and often and was a big reason why his team All About the Base are champions!
