Ninja Turtles Chop, Slice and Kick Their Way to League Title
John Maino Delivers Walk Off Single to Score Winning Run in Bottom of the 7th

In the semi-final game of the night Smack My Pitch Up squared off with Business Casual in what turned out to be a run fest for Smack My Pitch Up. Smack My Pitch Up was an absolute hitting machine delivering the ball to every hole in the field the entire night and proving to be too much for Business Casual. After Smack My Pitch Up exploded for 19 runs in the first 3 innings, Business casual could not match their intensity and found themselves in an early hole that they could not dig themselves out of. Scoring a total of 27 runs proved to be too much for Business casual to overcome paving the way for a championship match up between Smack My Pitch Up and The Ninja Turtles.

The championship game of the night was an absolute barn burner and a game that both teams will never ever forget. Smack My Pitch Up started strong reeling off 7 runs in the first 2 innings while the Ninja Turtles could only muster up 2 runs. In the top of the 4th inning Smack My Pitch Up exploded for 6 more runs extending their lead to 11 runs. Without panicking and with an awesome display of batting in the bottom of the 4th inning, Ninja Turtles reeled off 9 runs to pull within 2 runs. In the top of the 5th inning Smack My Pitch Up responded with a rally of their own scoring 6 more runs to extend their lead back to 6 runs. The Ninja Turtles could only score 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning pulling themselves to within 6 runs heading into the 6th inning. Great pitching and defense in the the top of the 6th inning held Smack My Pitch Up to 1 run which would prove to be costly as we headed into the last inning. The Ninja Turtles again exploded for 9 runs in the bottom of the 6th pulling themselves ahead by two runs heading into the final inning. Down by two runs and with the game on the line Smack My Pitch Up behind great hitting and very aggressive base running ripped off 2 quick runs to tie the game. With the game tied at 22 runs a piece in the bottom of the 7th and with 1 out and 1 on it happened. John Maino, with one on delivered a blistering walk off single to right field to score the game winning go ahead run. This game will certainly go down as one of the best, if not the best come from behind win in Underdog League history. After being pounded in the first 4 innings, The Ninja Turtles remained calm, did not drop their heads and responded by scoring 21 runs in the last 4 innings. Lead by John Maino's 2 deep bombs, 1 triple, 2 doubles and a walk off game winning single, Ninja Turtles closed the chapter on a great season. Congratulations to John Maino and The Ninja Turtles for an awesome championship win!
