A positive attitude that extends farther than his height, Grant leads his team in blocks and smiles. Constantly being an encouraging member on his team, he also is always doing his best to get better. Ask him why he's doing push-ups on the court and he'll tell you its cause he missed his serve - but he'll get it next time. A shining light on and off the court, way to go, Grant!
Playing defense isn't always the easiest thing - especially when you are defending against a very tall, hard-hitting middle. During her game, Rosie was posted up left back and the hardest hit of the night came in her direction. She muscled up and dug that ball - with her shoulder! It was an amazing dig, but that wasn't the end of it - the rally went on and the ball crossed the net probably 8 more times. It wasn't finished until she was set in the back row. It was a decisive kill followed by lots of celebration. Way to go Rosie!
Hitting the ten foot line is a feat in and of itself. Twice in a game? Crazy good. Three times? Now you've hit Cooper Brennerman status! Teamy McTeamface had a great game this week with lots of great rallys and wild plays. I don't know if Cooper strapped on wings or if he can really just jump that high.... but those hits were a sight to see! Way to go Cooper!
If we are all being honest, playing defense against someone who could probably jump over the net is, like, really scary. Apparently not for Melissa who took about 90% of the hits the entire match. There was not even a hint of cower or nerves in her eyes - nothing but determination and a desire for that W. Way to go Melissa!!
How I Set Your Mother - Indy #V5 forfeited to Smash N Grab.
Cooper Brenneman
Teamy McTeamface
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. That was the mentality of Cooper from Teamy McTeamface, whose utter brilliance at the net during the game's most crucial moments helped solidify a stunning victory. It was a close match with We're Only Here For The T-shirts, but ultimately the electrifying dominance of Cooper's blocks and attacks matched with the resilience of his teammates allowed them a spectacular win. For his diligent performance, Cooper is our player of the week.
In case you didn't know, Flossy con Saucy started out as a soccer team, and expanded their recreational sports competition lives with volleyball this season. As a team they have grown so much, and this week Travis lead his team! Improvement is obvious on this team, but this week Travis had some stellar blocks, and crazy hits. It's impossible to tell this is his first season!
Nicole from Believe in Your Selfie demonstrated wonderful leadership and perseverance on the court this week. She supported her team through some extremely tense moments, and always acted with solid sportsmanship. Nicole is a very versatile player, and her team could count on her exceeding in any position on the court. Excellent work this week, Nicole!
