James Irvine -- The goalie at 1st
This week, James was a gold-glove first-baseman. Gold soccer gloves, that is. Donning the mitts of a goalie, James fearlessly chased fouls balls all day, even running himself into a bench on one catch! His impressive fielding brought his team to a double header sweep on the day. Congrats on the incredible play, James!

Rick Parent
QuoteWizard
Watching Rick play Wednesday, you would never have guessed that he was a kickball rookie. Playing in his first ever game, Rick racked up tons of hits including a pair of triples. He also showed off his dodgeball skills by making an acrobatic leap to avoid getting tagged out on his way to first. Fantastic first game of what looks to be a storied kickball career for Rick.

Rocky Jorgensen
The Rangy Outfielder
This week, Rocky got underneath just about every ball that came his way. On multiple occasions throughout his double header, opposing players rocketed kicks straight into gaps in the outfield. Where a lesser outfielder would settle for a hit and simple try and contain the ball, Rocky sprinted all-out and was able to put away many a runner. For his superb outfield coverage on the day, Rocky is our player of the week.

GREG RAUCH
Golden Handed on the Rubber
Greg Rauch is today's player of the week for his outstanding performance from the mound! He ended the game with a "triple double", turning three double plays from his spot in the staunch defensive lineup for the manhandlers. He can in fact do it all, as he had five hits in the game, and was just a long ball short of the elusive cycle! What a way to lead his team in in production, racking up four runs kicked in, as well as defense via decisive fielding. Congratulations, Greg Rauch!

Jessie Smith
Uptown Girls
Jessie rocked it behind the plate this week! She carried the team to two wins in their double header, leading with tremendous kicking. In the first game she finished with a whopping 6 RBIs, going 4 for 4 and racking up 3 runs on the way. She really knew how to finish those rallies this week! Great job, Jessie!

Jack O'Connor
Grand Slaaa! Oh....
It was the top of the seventh and coming down to the wire. The Free Ballazz were in prime position to secure a win, up by two and kicking with two outs. Up steps Jack O' Connor, their last hope to tack on security runs and guarantee the win. He kicks, and the ball rips down the left field line, inches shy of foul, and three runs cross the plate! He decides to stretch it for a grand slam, when out of nowhere the ball comes flying in to tag him out at the plate! The Free Ballazz Cruze to their win thanks to Jack's (almost) grand slam.

Jeff Levi
Rock Solid in Right Field
It seemed like every single ball was kicked to right field, directly towards Jeff. He handled it like a true veteran, not letting even one touch the ground. His stern demeanor and intimidating muscles scared everyone into kicking directly into his arms. Way to go, Jeff!

Jamie Price
Ernst and Talented!
Player of the week goes to Jamie Price today! She was quite the all-star at first base, snatching ball after ball on the base or way off into foul territory. Her fielding was impeccable, but her kicking wasn't far behind. She finished 2 for 3 with a run to cap off a stellar performance all around. Way to go, Jamie!

Kelly McKeown
Defensive Mastermind!
Today Kelly was a beast on defense! She recorded more than a handful of outs on the way to a victory. On one play, she had a terrific heads up double play and the instinct to nearly make it three! She had the catch, tag, and throw to home that was short just by a hair. For her outstanding skills in the field, the player of the week goes to Kelly McKeon.

Lyria Shaffer-Bauck
Call the Copzz!
Somebody phone 911, we have a problem! Lyria ran stop signs all over the place. She wouldn't listen to her base coach at third or first, and worst of all she got away with it, scoring on multiple occasions! She practically invented the "stolen base of kickball"! For being the most savvy criminal on the field, the player of the week is Lyria Shaffer-Bauck!
Ballin' Out - Indy #K12 forfeited to Precept Whinos.
Alex Tang
Ernst and Young
Alex Tang is the player of the week for Eastlake! His team was fighting to stay alive in playoff contention when he rallied the team behind his defensive effort and strong kicking. He stopped every ball at short and even made a spectacular diving catch to end an inning. Finishing with 3 RBIs on 3 hits, Alex smoked the defense. Congratulations, Alex!
With playoffs under way this week there were some great games played. The best out of these games was by Pedro Batres in the last game of the day. Pedro showed his great footwork by getting four putouts at first base by kicking the kickball over when he was in the field. The defensive creativity was incredible and the training in the offseason is showing in the playoffs. Pedro would also add a few hits to his great defensive performance and that's why he is the player of the week.
Sarah came in clutch today when her team was tied in the bottom of the seventh in the championship game. She missiled the ball to right field and finished the season with a run kicked in and the final win of the season. Congratulations, Sarah!
