Spring Softcore Kickball Downtown Mon/Wed

"Big Time Timmy-Jim" did just that and had a big-time performance in the opening game of the season. He had 3 huge kicks on offense, 2 of which ended up in the playground past center field accounting for half of the run production for Hardball. Tim scored 3 runs and had 5 RKIs, all of which were critical in what ended up as a very close 2 run game by the end. His speed in the outfield was also key as he caught everything that came his way, including a running catch in the twilight to keep the tying runs from advancing in the final inning. It was a complete performance and well deserved player of the week.

Good games this week at Cascade. Hardball won both games of their double-header AND they brought Capri Suns and orange slices!! Hats off to Darcy Swacker for making catches at first base and ALMOST HITTING A 3-RUN HR!! This week's player of the week is Darcy Swacker for going 4-6 and just barely missing a 3-run HR, bringing in 2RBI. INDY team K#8 narrowly lost and The Sensual Winnebagoes almost came back to win but lost in the last inning. Again, great close games, but Darcy and her team Hardball won out AND brought snacks. Congrats to Darcy Swacker for winning this week's Player of the Week!

Cascade playfield was poppin' on Monday! Indy team K#8 played a double-header into the night and won one out of two. Recess Renegades showed their experience and winning attitude beating K#8. Indy K#7, a.K.a. No Man Bunts, put on a late show almost coming back to beat K#8 (team First Runner Up). We had dogs in the outfield, bystanders that wanted to play so bad, and really good games. Thank you to all the people that came out to play. So many highlights, but we have to address the most important (besides a win) part: Player of the Week. This week we highlight Sharat Reddy and his aggressive (in a good way) baserunning. Kickball should be played with the same intentions Sharat displayed on the base paths and at the plate. No knock to Claudia Levi's mom Arelis Levi for this week's award. Mrs. Levi jumped in the game to solidify a starting team (K#8) and even kicked for a base hit (with pinch runner). Hats off to Sharat Reddy for leading his team to victory, Sharat had three (3) hits and played good defense at home plate (while directing his teammates and pitcher)! Congrats Sharat and Recess Renegades on the win!

Player of the Week honours go to Adam Felton for his Griffey Jr. style "jump catch" and knowing to stop on 2B and recording the final out at 1B. Winning one of two games this week, K#7 came to play and got better as the night progressed. Sometimes, competition gets fierce, but K#7 held it together and with level heads prevailed in their second matchup of the evening. Congratulations to Adam Felton for having the wherewithal to stop on 2B (team noted and making an exciting catch. Adam wins this week's Player of the Week honours.

Dan M earns this week's Player of the week award for kicking in 3 runs that ended up deciding the game. It was a close battle, but Dan willed his team to victory, and even included a couple of nice catches at short stop and managed his team around the diamond. Great game, Dan!

Round one of the Spring playoffs for Cascade Playfield. Mud at Third base and dogs in the outfield and a cloudy Monday evening. Game one went to The Sensual Winnebagoes in an all out offensive. That game decided 21-3. After the playoff play-in game, The Sensual Winnebagoes played game two, but could only muster three more runs and lost 3-8 to Hardball. Hardball got significantly stronger when Aaron Gottlieb showed up. At shortstop, Aaron made incredible plays for outs and at bat he kicked lined drives at least 3-4 at-bats. Congrats to Hardball for advancing and playing great ball and congratulations to Aaron Gottlieb for winning Player of the Week honours.
