Bases May Not Be Loaded But We Are, Grizzly Balls, just for kicks, Maddababy
POTW: Jim Audette
The Kickstands
This week's player of the week goes to Jim Audette of the Kickstands. During an exciting, close game, Jim came through on defense. On one occassion, there was a high pop up to Jim in right field and on his approach to catch the ball, he slipped causing him to fall on his back. I think everyone thought the ball couldn't be caught after a slip like that, but Jim stuck with it and caught it while still on the ground. Definitely, an "ESPN Kickball" top play of the day! Great work out there, Jim!
Battle Toads, Brighton Jones, kick balls, The Kickstands
POTW: Crane Chantrey
Maddababy
This weeks player of the week goes to Crane Chantrey who pitched a great game. He was also able to make great defensive plays in the field to help his team start the season off with a "W". He also kicked the ball well and got on base regularly showing he never lost any of those skills he possessed on middle school. Great job Crane!
Bases May Not Be Loaded But We Are, Brighton Jones, kick balls, Maddababy
POTW: Dan Lincoln
The Kickstands
This weeks player of the week goes to the only guy in Seattle with a tan, Dan Lincoln. Dan played aggressive on both sides of the ball, and helped his team chalk up another victory this week. Great job Dan!
Bases May Not Be Loaded But We Are, Grizzly Balls, just for kicks, The Kickstands
POTW: Joe Mangan
Maddababy
This week's player of the week goes to Joe Mangan of Maddababy. Joe played an outstanding Kickball game and what really stood out was his overall excitement and positive energy. Thanks to Joe and maybe a little to the awesome weather, from 6:30 to 7:30, was an awesome time to be a kickballer at the Magnolia Playfields. Also, Joe, nice work on Kicking a grand salami in your victory over the rough and tough Battle Toads. Thanks for a good time on the kickball field, Joe!
This week's player of the week goes to, THE ONE, THE ONLY, Chris Stevens of the Kickstands. Shortstop is a tough position to play in Kickball but Ozzie Smith...I mean Chris made it look easy. To show us how easy it was for Chris, he caught a ball with his face....no joke...his face. I'm sorry, but that's a demonstration of some serious MAD SKILLZ. Dude was a vaccum cleaner out there! Great D, Chris! Thanks for the entertaining catch styles:)
Bases May Not Be Loaded But We Are, Grizzly Balls, kick balls, The Kickstands
POTW: Paul Johnson
just for kicks
This week's player of the week goes to Paul Johnson of Just for Kicks. Paul's determination and "mad" kicking skillz helped Just for Kicks win 8 to 7 in a nail biter against Battle Toads. It was a tie game in the bottom of the 7th and Paul roped one into right field, scoring his team-mate from 3rd to win the game. He turned down interviews w/ESPN but he did make a short statement to FOX SPORTS: "I couldn't have done it w/o the support of my team-mates." Talk about unselfish:) Way to go PAUL!!
Battle Toads, Brighton Jones, just for kicks, Maddababy
POTW: Molly McDonald
Bases May Not Be Loaded But We Are
Molly McDonald came to the game with the "full package." She identified all the gaps in the field which allowed her to collect two hits and two runs. In addition to her awesome kicks, she amplified her teams momentum by catching a rocket-style kick to end the 6th inning for The Kickstands. Way to go Molly!
Brighton Jones, just for kicks, Maddababy, The Kickstands
POTW: Michelle Rybolt
Battle Toads
This week's player of the week goes to Michelle Rybolt of the Battle Toads. 3 words...Michelle can Run! She must have had on those "magic shoes" that took her around and around and around, scoring a bunch of runs for the Battle Toads. Play stops when in the pitching area and Michelle respected that but when it wasn't, she put on her cape and flew from base to base, making it almost impossible for the Grizzly Balls to throw her out. Unfortunately, her runs weren't good enough to win, but the battle Toads are on the map thanks to some MAD running skillz by Michelle. Nice work out there, Forrest!! ;)
Bases May Not Be Loaded But We Are, Battle Toads, Grizzly Balls, kick balls
POTW: Tom Rider
just for kicks
This week's player of the week goes to Tom Rider of the team, Just for Kicks. Tom was a MANamal on the mound. Nothing seemed to get by this guy; grabbing catches here, there, and everywhere. There were a couple plays when you thought the ball was, w/o a doubt, uncatchable and Tom, leaving his cape at home, came up w/the big catches. He definitely made a believer out of me. Great job out there, Tom!
Bases May Not Be Loaded But We Are, Battle Toads, Brighton Jones, The Kickstands
POTW: Michael Fox
Maddababy
This week's player of the week goes to Michael Fox of team Maddababy. Maddababy played a tough game against the Grizzly balls on Tuesday, ending the game in a tie. Maddababy was up for most of the game but Grizzly Balls came back in the 6th to tie it up. Michael, the team's captain, helped the team put a stop to Grizzly Balls run. Michael is an awesome team captain and win, lose or draw, he makes sure everyone is having a good time! Thanks for keeping the game fun, Michael!
Grizzly Balls, just for kicks, kick balls, Maddababy
POTW: Helen Ray
The Kickstands
This week's player of the week goes to Helen Ray of the Kickstands. Can you say All-Star Left Fielder?? Helen must have had 5 or 6 catches out there that weren't easy ones either. A couple of them were kicks that were as high as Chris Weber and she still caught em'....yeah...that's pretty high. Great job out there, Helen!

POTW: Laura Henigson
just for kicks
This week's player of the game goes to Laura Henigson of the team Just for Kicks. Laura is the big cheese, the la cap-ee-tan of Just for Kicks. She motivated her team to a pretty big upset against the Maddababys, who are made up of ALL-STAR kickballers. The key to her success had to have been a combination of making it fun and a power breakfast of eggs, a protein shake, and steroid laced oatmeal. Way to go above and beyond, Laura!! Great job!
This week's player of the game goes to Karen Survis of the Battle Toads. If you have ever seen Karen while she runs, you are of only a few people in this world to witness such an event. Karen, without a doubt, is the fastest kickballer and cannot really be seen while running by the naked eye...usually the only thing seen is a trail of dust. Pitchers and catchers don't even try to throw this speed demon out b/c there's no chance to throw out FLASH's daughter. Way to show off some serious speed, Karen! See ya next season;)
THis week's player of the week belongs to a brand new DAD, Erik Bruce of Just for Kicks. Thanks to Erik, his wife and parents, we got to see one cute baby. Everyone who saw little baby Peter, instantly got a smile. So, needless to say, the game for 3rd place was a fun one. Thanks, Erik, for letting us see such a cool little guy.
