Entering the playoffs as the 4 seed, Kate's Pub had some work to do if they were going to win it all. That's exactly what they did during their amazing playoff run. The hitting display they put on over the 3 playoff games was nothing short of impressive. The offense scoring over 20 runs per game put them in prime position to win a championship. But if not for some spectacular defense, all their hitting would of went for naught. Double plays, great relay throws and home run robbing catches were on display as well. The type of all-around play that champions need. Congrats to Kate's Pub and their well deserved championship!
In a thrilling semi-final game for the ages, Kate's Pub squeaked by No Pants Party by 2 runs. The only reason Kate's was able to move on and eventually win the title was an amazing game saving play by Dominic. With Kate's up 2 in the bottom of the seventh, NPP sent the tying run up to the plate with 2 outs. The batter crushed a fly ball to deep-deep center that had all the making of a 2 run homer. But it was not to be. Dom tracked the fly, never giving up on the play, reached over the fence and grabbed the final out. Absolute thievery! Play of the year!
No matter what, he's smiling and having a good time. It keeps his team lose. Never argues and just rolls with it and keeps playing. Great pitcher as well.
