The semi final games had two contrasting styles. In the Springfield Isotopes vs Team Zissou game, the lead seesawed back and forth. In the second game, it came down to the bottom of the seventh. Team Zissou was up by one and Furley was biting at their heels. Unfortunately, Furley couldn't quite hold it together and Zissou went on to the win the match up.
Oh what a championship! With Zissou down and a runner on in bottom of the 7th, the ball flew sharply off the bat. A hush broke out over the entire field. The ball seemed like it was hanging in the air for an eternity as it flirted with the foul line. FOUL! The ball just missed the chalk down the left field line, missing it by about 6 inches. The batter couldn't recover from such a devastating blow, as they proceded to hit a sharp line drive to the shortstop to end the game and give the Grouches their 1st ever USL championship.
