Notes

First Place

Summer Eastside Kickball in Kirkland Mon/Wed

Kickin' it started slowly in what ended up being a defensive battle for the championship. After 3 innings, the score was all knotted at 2 when Kickin' it got the break they needed. With bases loaded and 2 outs in the 4th, the CF slipped as he advanced on a twisting pop fly that ended up dropping in for a 2-run double. This was followed by a 2-run single for the next kicker and Kickin' it never looked back. Their defense, with John at short making a great catch in the 6th and the CF making an even better running catch and great throw to 1st for a double play in the 7th, was the real key in their 9 to 3 victory.

Wednesday, August 12

Joe Dvorak

Kickin' It- Indy #K18

Joe was just awesome as usual with his steady play--never too up or down, just solid and ready at all times. He started the scoring with a huge 3B for an RKI in the first. Then in the third inning, he added a single and had a great over-the-head catch on the run from 3rd to shallow LF. He had a key throw from 3rd to 1st in the fifth to just beat the runner for the final out. He added another single in the 6th and just played solid with no mistakes and a few huge plays that really did make the difference in the championship game.
