In spite of the soggy sand & cold rain that day, the players of Sum R Brews nabbed a 1st place finish on Monday after a fun season of beach volleyball on Alki. Keeping the ball in play, along with smart shots & tough-driven serves, allowed this team to take it all in the win. Standout player Kevin Smallwood, showcasing a fearsome offensive game at the net, proved to be a valuable asset to his team.
Kevin Smallwood's huge game, particularly at the net, aided his team in their 1st place finish this Monday on Alki in the Championship round of Beach Volleyball. His lethal spikes proved too difficult for his opponents to dig. His blocks too, impenetrable. An offensive machine!
The Sum R Brews won three straight in very convincing fashion. There was no doubt that they were in control from start to finish. A big part of why the team was so successful was Player of the Week Mary Muller. Mary was all over the court making great defensive plays and was extremely consistent with her passing as well. Add some tough serving in as well and it's no surprise that she led her team to 3 big wins.
