Both teams knew it was going to be a struggle the minute they got to the beach. The wind was out in full force and was ready to move the ball in any direction it pleased. Top Gun started with the wind at their backs and found that power was not needed, while Happy Feet on the other side had to put their all behind the ball to make it over the net. The scrappy defense of Happy Feet was lead by Michael as he threw his body around the court to pick up everything he could.
As the teams switched sides they found it to be a whole new ball game. One player on Top Gun is quoted in saying "The minute you get used to a side its time to switch and you have to learn all over again." To add power or not to add power, that was the question. After battling against the wind and a peak of sun, the victory went to Happy Feet.
Robert Herzog led his team to a playoff to a tough playoff victory with his "nothing hits the sand" attitude, and his smart shot selection.
