Notes

First Place

Summer Co-ed Softball at Paramount Sundays

Park Pub took advantage of a couple TapouT miscues in the first inning to jump out to a 7-0 lead, a lead they would never relinquish. The damage would have been greater if not for the great defensive play of TapouT's left fielder Mike Olson, who threw out a runner at home plate for the final out of the inning. Following the put-out, momentum briefly swung to TapouT as they answered with six runs in the next two innings, thanks mostly to Luke Deryckx's three run triple in the third, to cut the lead to one after three played. However, TapouT could not overcome the solid defense of Park Pub. Great catches were plentiful, such as Merrell Cacka's diving catch in right field and left-center fielder Brendan Stamper's sliding catch. The defensive highlight, however, came from shortstop Nikki Opp, who recorded seven of the game's 21 possible outs with rally killing diving catches!
Park Pub gained breathing room in the 4th and 5th innings scoring an additional 3 runs to put the game away with the final score being 10-6. Offensive highlights for Park Pub include Player of the Game Chris Shepperd's 3 RBIs, Ryan Stamper's 3B, and Joel Vandenbrink's three hits.
Congratulations to Park Pub for winning the Summer Co-ed Softball league at Paramount!

Sunday, September 7

POTW: Nikki Opp

Park Pub

Player of the Week is awarded to Nikki Opp who played a key part in Park Pub's championship win! Nikki recorded 7 of the 21 outs possible for Park Pub catching screaming line drives and making all-star plays at shortstop. One play in particular, Nikki made a diving catch on a groundball hit in the 5.5 hole and made a great throw to first for the out! Amazing play!!! Congratulations Nikki!!!

Sunday, August 17

POTW: Mark Satterly

Park Pub

Player of the Week for this first week of playoffs is awarded to Mark Satterly from team Park Pub! Mark's solid play in right-center field kept team Who's Buying's runners at bay, and then paced Park Pub's offense with 2 homeruns and a double as the top ranked Park Pub advanced in the playoffs! Congrats to Mark for a great game played!

Sunday, August 3

POTW: Merrell Cacka

Park Pub

In a battle of first place teams, Merrell came up big. Her error-free defense in RF accounted for 5 outs. Her entire team played stellar D, but she truly locked down right field. Though she didn't trash talk any, she earned the right to tell TapOut "Not in my house!"

Sunday, July 27

POTW: Brendan Stamper

Park Pub

Brendan had an amazing week going 5 for 5 and hitting for the cycle. in addition to a single, double triple, he had 2 home runs. Brendan was also the definition of sportsmanship as he helped to collect cones at the end of the night. great game brendan!

Sunday, June 29

POTW: Matt Stamper

Park Pub

In the 2nd game of a double header, Matt Stamper led Park Pub to their 2nd win of the day and the young season. Stamper not only led Park Pub with his bat, a single, double and triple. But also pitched both games allowing only 4 runs in the first game, a 16-4 win over the Upper Deckers and 5 runs in the 2nd game versus the Puget Pounders. The fast start for the Park Pub should help them later in the season in a very balanced league.
