It took five hard fought seasons, but Second Fiddle finally captured their first championship. Not only did they overcome the un-defeated Ninja Turtles, but they had to endure the mud-ball rainy conditions to do it! Second Fiddle jumped out early scoring 4 in the first, but the Ninja Turtles answered back with 2 of their own. It seemed like a game that would be dominated by offense, however, defense would prevail thanks mostly to both teams pitchers, including player of the game Mike Silva. In the end, Second Fiddle edged out the win 8-5......In the 3rd place game between team Kick Me and Plan B, it was the offense of Jeff Skanland that paved the way to a victory. The outstanding defensive plays by Kick Me's Jeremy Lehman and Sara Lussy were not enough as Plan B claims the victory by a score of 7-5. Congrats goes to all teams for a well played season!!!
Although Dave had a bum leg from a previous injury, that didn't stop him from showing the other team how it's done. Kicking with his left foot (he's right footed) he hit a grand slam. What a guy!
