This Sunday in the co-ed flag football league at Juanita High School marked the end of the playoffs for the spring season, and of course, a season can't end without a champion being crowned. This season the Ball Snatchers fought hard all the way through the playoffs, and won both games of a double header to claim the title over XFL 26-20. Although XFL made a late comeback and kept the game interesting to say the least, the Ball Snatchers kept their composure under the leadership of captain Raf Wong and were able to maintain their lead. Solid play especially by the girls on the team helped the Ball Snatchers sustain drives and keep XFL's defense guessing, a winning combination. Congratulations Ball Snatchers!
This week in the co-ed flag football league at Juanita High School on Sundays the player of the week is Raf Wong of the Ball Snatchers. As captain of the Ball Snatchers, Raf led them all the way to the championship and took home the title this Sunday. Consistent play on both offense and defense is the name of the game for Raf and his crew, and obviously it pays off! Good job Raf!
In a 58-12 victory for the Ball Snatchers over All That Matters, Lisa Thompson led the way by scoring one touchdown, 1 extra point, and playing some great defense. It's too bad that the rest of her teammates were not up to the task on defense, as a lot was riding on the points that they would, or would not give up. So while Lisa gets the credit for her great defense, sadly, the Ball Snatchers will still be disappointed with the result of their Week 6 victory because some on the team had promised a shutout, and could not deliver.
The Ball Snatchers got the ball rolling in Week 2 by spreading the ball around and playing some great defense as well. In the 44-14 victory, Jessica Ang led the way by scoring an important touchdown and adding an equally important PAT for the winners. The Ball Snatchers now look to get a winning streak started in Week 3 on their way to another playoff run.
