The Commandos entered the playoffs as a 6 seed, and battled all the way to the championship and won 8 to 2. They faced off with the 1 seed and it was a excellent game with close plays, solid defense and a 8 to 2 outcome as the Commandos won. The Commandos defense was outstanding throughout the playoffs only giving up a total of 11 runs in their 3 playoff games. In this Underdog story Defense does win Championships. great season Commandos, and way to battle back from the bottom of the bracket!
Mathew H. is this weeks POTW for his outstanding defense catching everything kicked in his direction. Mathew played a key role in opponents scoring very few runs all night with his outstanding plays at shortsop, and wowed the crowds with awesome catches. Great game Mathew!
Michael had a day for the ages!!! After flying out deep in his first at bat, he quickly found the gap on his next at bat belting a two run home run that tied the score after trailing by two runs. But not to be outdone by his previous at bat, Michael stepped to the dish again and made Grandma pull out the rye bread and mustard... It was certainly Grand Salami time! With the game still in question, Michael's clutch boot opened the game wide open and his team never looked back. To finish the night off, he added a line drive single to complete a 3 - 5, 2 home run, 6 RBI night. We are looking for him to be a force at the next level when that call up occurs.
