Notes

First Place

Summer Co-ed Softball in Kirkland Sundays

Well this was finally it....the inaugural Underdog Softball Championship in Kirkland! Taking the long route to reach the Championship game was #3 seeded Thick Sticks as they had to play 3 games in one day including the Championship game. First they had to get past The Joint, no easy task by itself. Next they had to take on the #2 seeded Franks and Beans, where their bats came alive and their gloves kept the game out of reach. Finally, at the Championship and facing the powerhouse #1 seed So Fresh and So Green, Thick Sticks were able to jump out to an early lead and never look back. Combining power hitting and aggressive base running, Thick Sticks were able to outlast the late inning surge by So Fresh and So Green. Most notable was the 'all around hustle' of Thick Stick's captain, Tucker Ludy, as he combined timely and well placed hitting with some playoff caliber base running. Congratulations to Thick Sticks on their impressive 13-10 victory and to Tucker Ludy, Player of the Game!!
