Notes

First Place

Summer Co-ed Softball at Greenlake Saturdays

Saturday's championship game saw number two seeded Strangers face off against fourth seeded Flesh Eating Sharks in what turned out to be a barn burner. After scoring no runs in their first two at bats and only scoring one run through three innings it was not looking good early on for the lower seeded Sharks. Able to only muster one run in their first three at bats they needed some offense to keep them close until they could get things going. Well they got things going and they going really fast. The Sharks exploded in the fourth inning ripping off five runs then ripping off another five in the sixth while holding the Strangers to five runs total over three innings. Lead by Eric Stevens who went four for five on the day with a triple, two doubles and a single the Sharks received a much needed shot in the arm. All of a sudden their defense got stiff, the pitching got nasty and before you knew it the Sharks were completely in control over the last three innings and were well on their way to a much deserved victory over a very good and higher seeded team. Great win Sharks and congratulations on your league title.
