Notes

First Place

Summer Co-ed Softball at Greenlake Sundays

Thats right! Zango, the cinderella story of the year, the #9 seed with 3 wins in a row to get to the championship completed their unlikely run and captured the title with a 20-1 victory over Indiana Jones. This is truly great Underdog stuff people - and further proof that the playoffs are a new season and every team has a shot at Underdog Hall of Fame glory!

Sunday, August 12

POTW: Heather King

Zango

Zango's championship run was truly a team effort, but Heather King did her best to stand out. She smacked two doubles and went 3-4 with 3 RBIs in the championship game and really helped jump-start her team's offense. Don't be surprised if you see her smiling face on a Wheaties box come fall season. Nice job Heather!

Sunday, August 5

POTW: Lyle Gardner

Zango

After a lackluster regular season, Zango only made it into the upper division of the playoff round on reputation alone. But when the chips were down and the games ultimately counted, Zango put together two strong games yesterday. First, they knocked off Gemini 17-7 and then routed K.B.'s Crew 19-4 on the strength of a 15 run seventh inning. The man who led the way was Lyle Gardner. Lyle pitched two gems, most of which was after he injured his pitching arm early in the first game.
