During the regular season, team Sit On My Base had an impressive run. Going 5 -1, they positioned themselves well for a deep playoff run.
The first playoff game was a hard fought battle with Marshall Law. Sit On My Base went up early and had to hold on for a 1 run victory. Now it was off to the Championship game to face off with the only team to defeat them all season long, Socks On!
After falling behind early, it seemed like it was destined to be a repeat of their previous match up. Sit On My Base rallied to tie the game and in the top of the 6th took the lead. All they needed to do now was get 6 outs and revenge would be theirs. The bottom half of the 7th would play out just like the sixth, 1-2-3. The lone loss was avenged and the title was theirs. Great season and congrats on the championship, well deserved!!
Championship games require players to take their game to the next level. That is exactly what Matt did. He played flawless D, catching every kick that even thought about coming his way. In a close low scoring game, every hit is critical and Matt piled up 4 of them! All those times on base inevitably led to Matt crossing the plate in the sixth inning as the eventual game winning run. Matt's performance was exactly what his team needed to bring home the title!!
Just a great game going 3 for 3 at the plate with a nice 2-run double and a solid line drive single for a total of 3 RBIs. Made a terrific effort to score from 2nd on a single but was thrown out at the plate.
Lindsey had the most impressive performance of the day. She had a great day pitching shutting the opposing hitters down and providing some incredible defense on balls hit back to her. She also ended up with a great day at the plate coming up with some clutch kicks. Way to go Lindsey!
