First Place

Spring Co-ed Softball on Capitol Hill Saturdays

The championship game was full of big hits on offense, and great web-gem plays on defense. Both teams brought their A-game, and the game did not dissappoint. We Can't Think of a Team Name controlled the first 5 innings of the game, with a decent cusion that diminished quickly as the Giants rallied late. The Giants were able to finally get some balls in play against the stingy defense of the new champs and put up 7 runs in the top of the 7th to tie the game. But the new champs ( that have a long team name so I just call them the new champs instead of writing the team name) tightened their laces, and gripped the bats a bit tighter in the bottom of the 7th. Needing to get 1 run accross home-plate before they could get sized for their champ shirts, they started swinging. Able to get a extra base hit early with no outs, the pieces were in place for their victory and with one more swing of the bat their season was defined and Matt Sambrook was the winning run, and the champs were crowned. Great season, and goodluck picking a new team name in the future! Great season!

We Can't Think of a Team Name

They Might Be Giants

This weeks honors go to the whole squad of We Can't Think of a Team name. Though they had issues of coming up with a team name, they will now be known as the champs. In the 2 games they played, everyone on the team hit hard, flat line drives in gaps. They were unstoppable with the solid hitting up and down the batting order. They all played great defense as well, so they all get this weeks honors. Great games and great season!

Sarah Will

We Can't Think of a Team Name

This weeks player of the week goes to Sarah W. for her outstanding play on defense and offense. Sarah crushed the ball when at bat, and drove in a bunch of her team's runs in both wins of their double-header. Sarah wowed the opponents as well as the crowded bleacher seats in left-field with her stellar defense making lots of great catches. Sarah was the star player on her squad, and owns the title Player of the Week! Great games Sarah!
