Notes

First Place

Spring Co-ed Flag Football at Seattle Center Sundays

Green has once again reached the summit of Underdog Football, capturing another championship. After a 36-22 slugfest with Who's Your Daddy in the semi's, all bets were that the final would be a much higher scoring affair, as Pitches and Scores were coming off a 64-46 win in their semi-final against Malicious. However Green's defense was up to the task, holding their opponents in check, and eventually pulling away to a 35-18 victory.

At the center of the action was Brian Lenz and Stan Douglas. Brian had three interceptions in the last 10 minutes against Who's Your Daddy, including two that were returned for touchdowns. Then Douglas stepped up his game in the final with two critical interceptions of his own.

All told, Green is to be lauded for their outstanding defensive efforts. Congratulations to the winners!

Jen Norman

Green

Going into Week 3, the best match-up on paper was Green vs Team Sweet. Everyone knew it was going to be a great game, and neither team disappointed. However, one team had to win, and the player that came up with the winning play was Jen Norman. Late in the game, Jen made a spectacular, leaping interception that allowed her team the leverage to pull out a 42-34 victory. With the way these two teams compete, we may not have seen the final time they play this season, as a playoff encounter seems likely. But on Sunday, Jen made sure her team came out on top.
