Notes

First Place

Spring Softcore Kickball at U-District Playfield Mon/Wed

On a mild Seattle day, the team of the Frackers were not playing around. They had one goal and that was to sweep the afternoon and win that championship. In the first game, the Frackers jumped to a pretty sizeable lead from the beggining. Trying to play solid defense throughout, Julie and Friends were not gonna go out without making it challenging. Scoring almost a run a inning, Julie and Friends brought it within 2 runs in the 6th inning when the Frackers scored 3 in the top of the 7th to put it away. The championship started almost identical to the semis. The Frackers jumped to a 8-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back. Brandy Mayfield had a lot to do with that. In both games Brandy went a combined 9-9. Talk about Ichiro batting average. They wouldn't stop there. They scored early and often, topped with incredible death defying catches by outfielder Ed Monk. Congratulations Frackers for winning it all!!

POTW: Lindsay Vespignani

Frackers

This week's Player of the Week comes to us from the Frackers. The Frackers came back with a vengence their 2nd game after dropping the 1st game of their double-header. Their game vs. Keep It Secret Keep It Safe was tight through all 7 innings and in the bottom of the 7th with the scored tied it was the Frackers' Lindsay Vespignani who scored the walk-off game winning run from 2nd base who provided the dramatic end to a great game! Not to mention the only thing harder than her last name was trying to get her to make any errors on defense at first base where she was rock solid all game long. Congrats to Frackers on their big win & to Lindsay Vespignani on her much deserved Player Of The Week honors!

POTW: Johnny Stutsman

Frackers

This week's player of the week goes to Johnny Stutsman of the new and talented Frackers. Johnny played an outstanding game on Wednesday night against the rouh and tough Wolfpack of 10. Even though it was Johnny's first time pitching, he kept the ball right down the middle with little to no bounce so the kickers could "kick" away freely. Also, when a bunt occured, Johnny was a speed demon racing down the ball and throwing numerous runners out. He is, without a doubt, an exceptional Underdog KB pitcher. Great job out there, Johnny.
