Jake Pedersen

Glass By Lund

How can you pick a player of the week for a team with so many stars stepping up? Do you go with Alex for his great defense at shortstop with a huge double play, or Brett for his walk-off double and quality playlist development ability? When it was all said and done, Jake Pedersen was the star of the night. Pitching a 5 run game from the mound with two shutout innings is nothing to scoff at, but his biggest play of the night was a defensive gem at the plate. Up 1 run with a couple of base runners, Glass by Lund just needed 1 out to get out of the inning and secure the win. Jake gave up a rare hit that drove in a run, but his awareness of the second base runner pushing for his saw him cover home. Hoping that his defense could get him the ball in time for the tag, Jake had one eye on the ball and another the runner. Alex roped a dime in from just outside the infield to Jake, and the man of the hour stared the runner down. With a bang-bang play, Jake tagged the runner out inches before his sliding feet made it to the plate. His defense preserved the 5-5 scoreline and led to Brett bombing one into right field to bring in the game winning run. Offense may have won the game in the bottom of the 7th, but Jake's defensive effort throughout the game put them in a position to pull it off. Congrats on a huge win to Jake and all of Glass by Lund!
