First Place

Maple Wood #5 - Sunday [SUM 04]

A good time was had by all! Zango tied the championship game in the bottom of the 4th inning by scoring seven runs. The momentum was definately theirs at that point, after hold SMASH runless the prior two innings. But in comes P. Rod, and with his second home run of the game, gave smash the lead they wouldn't give up the rest of the game. Great game.

Tuesday, September 7

POTW: Chris Kwong

S*M*A*S*H

With the crowd silent and all players on their feet, a man with a mighty bat came to the plate. What was the name of the bat they say, "Wonder Boy" someone yelled. With the game tied in the bottom of the 7th inning and one runner on Chris didn't even wait for a second pitch. All one could hear was the beautiful smack of a bat. After that ball was hit, Chris looked to the ground and said, "It's gone!" He looked up opened his eyes and ran the bases with everyone, including the other team applauding for the two run walk off home run over the fence to win the game. Congrats Chris and the SMASH team.

Sunday, August 1

POTW: Paul Rodriguez

Sunday, July 25

POTW: Becky Bowler

S*M*A*S*H

Becky received this weeks top honors. Smash handily won thier first game, and then had a come from behind victory over Zango to win two for the day. One main reason for this, the talented women that came through, lead by Becky who was solid at the plate.

Sunday, July 11

POTW: Roman DiLorenzo

S*M*A*S*H

Stan from team Zango gets an honorable mention. Playing hurt, his defense was as good at first as he is in the outfield. If not for the injury, he could have rounded the bases twice. He settled for triples.

Roman however, takes top prize. He stops line drives with his chest! He puts 110% into his defensive. If anybody wants to get a hit, don't hit the ball to him.

Sunday, June 27

POTW: Roman DiLorenzo

S*M*A*S*H

Roman not only leads in offense, but in defense as well. Stopping Zango's attack in the 5th inning, his "sno-cone" snag of a rocket line shot with runners on retired the side.
