BEAST - the 2 seed - strung together victory after victory during the regular season. They have a reputation of being a formidable opponent - each player skilled and capable. The Goonies, the one seed, had their work cut out for them. The championship match would be the first time these teams met all season.
The completion was close. Splitting the first two games, everything came down to game three. Calm, composed, and competitive - just three words that could be used to describe both teams. In the end, BEAST took the title.
This successful season was not always smooth sailing - the lack of subs, wind, and second hand smoke (thanks Canada) all were obstacles to overcome. The positive attitude from BEAST's players prevailed, and even caught the eye of the field admin earlier in the season (player of the week Jeraldine!).

It is difficult to be a great beach volleyball player on the court, but to also be a spirited player is even harder. Jeraldine Clothier of BEAST exemplified the Underdog spirit with her positive and supportive attitude on Monday night at Alki. Her constant cheering and encouragement kept BEAST's mood running high. Any team would be lucky to have someone as charismatic as Jeraldine. For her spirit, Jeraldine is our player of the week. Congratulations!
