This championship game was all offense as both teams showed up with the big bats. With the final score being 20 to 16, it turned into a marathon on the base paths as players crossed home-plate 36 times in this game. All Home runs were used, and Mick Finster's Pub and Grill came out on top. Mick's jumped out to an early lead and in the 2nd and never gave it back, as Take It Off chased their opponent all night, and got close, but just not close enough. Mick's left the field with the Champ shirts on their backs! Great seasons to both teams!
Tad's bat really got things going for Mick Finster's on the way to an absolute masterpiece of a strategic and offensive game. Batting 4 for 4 with a triple, a double and 2 singles and also drove in 4 of the 8 runs scored. His glove at third base was equally impressive snagging everything hit his way. Awesome performance all around.
This weeks player of the week goes to Stephanie Harwood for her outstanding defense at 3rd base. It was a tight game decided in the bottom of the 7th ending up 8 to 7 Mick Finster's Pub and Grill, a true nail biter. Stephanie put the left side on lock down with play after play, and amazing catches which was the difference in this tight match! Great job Stephanie, hope your teammates bought you a couple cold ones!
This weeks player of the the week goes to Laura Peterson and her great defense! In a tight game that ended 12 to 13, Laura helped her team get the "W" with outstanding defense. She had the right sided of the infield on lock down as she made out after out. It was her final play that earned her this weeks honors with a sweet game ending double play. Great job Laura!
