After losing two players to injuries last week, "New Kicks on the Block" needed someone to step up to the plate. A simple task for Nicole Gummow. Nicole made her first catch of the season and pitched the entire game. But it didn't stop there, she continued dominating the field by catching four more balls and hitting two singles. Great game Nicole!
Thursday night contained a double-header for "New Kicks on the Block," but that didn't faze Helen Pollock from dominating the playing field. Helen strategically placed two bunts down the third-base line to start a rally for her team. She also demonstrated superb defense and made several great plays at third.
Mr. Gummow: You take the cake sir. In a day that featured botched diving attempts, face-plants and strawberries on a frosty Tuesday night, Grant Gummow wins this weeks Player of the Week for his own diving off the mound debacle. Club Baby Seal thought they had wrapped up their season opener against the New Kicks on the Block, but an 8-run sixth inning put the New Kicks back in the game for the eventual win. Congrats to the New Kicks on the Block and to Grant Gummow for earning this week's Player of the Week.
