Third Place

Spring Softcore Kickball Downtown Tues/Thurs

Tuesday, June 8

POTW: Aaron Gooze

Six-Pack Away

"Kick Heard 'round Seattle" - The playoff game was still up for grabs late in the game when Six-Pack away was in the field with one out and runners on the bases. The pitched rolled in and was crushed into the sky heading to left field. Everyone assumed the catch would be made and the runner would score from third, but Aaron had different ideas. The catch was made and the runner on third tagged and started for home. What happened next could only be believed if it was seen because Aaron, knowing he couldn't throw the runner out, decided to rare back and kick it in from the outfield. The ball was struck as if by Fredy Montero and started tracking towards home plate. A hush went over the field as the ball started coming down from it's peak, amazingly toward the runner. And just before the runner reached the plate, the ball came down and an eruption went through the field as contact was made between the runner and ball for an unassisted double play! Incredible. Aaron Gooze, we tip our hat to you.

POTW: Cori Erickson

Six-Pack Away

Cori had THE best offensive self-sacrifice at second. She sprinted to second base as soon as her teammate booted it to left field, and then pulled off a pretty sweet barrel roll over it. Some would say this was an accident, but it can't be any coincidence that she was a huge distraction to defense and allowed her teammate to run all the way home. Cori is the ultimate team player!
