Backyard BAES Hold Off Bears

Late 7th Inning Jack Seals the Deal

The Backyard BAES found themselves in a battle with the Bad Booze Bears on Friday night and the action did not stop all night long . After battling for seven full innings in a very intense and defensive game, the score was knotted seven all heading into the seventh. I can't say enough about both team's defenses. They were both drum tight, very stingy and it all came down to one pitch. After the Bears failed to score in the top half, mainly because of some very delicious defense from Backyard BAEs, the stage was set and third baseman Justin Grossman was on his way to plate. As he approached the plate I thought to myself, "they have one home run left, the biggest guy on the field is coming to the plate, there is no way this ball is staying in the park if he gets a pitch that he can get his bat on". Then it happened. With no one on Justin takes the third pitch and launches it high into to orbit. This homerun would have definitely cleared the outfield walls at Safeco field easily. The ball was hit so hard you literally could not see it anymore after a few seconds. The way it was traveling, it may have either come down in Tacoma late last night or the astronauts up on the space station have it. Holy crap! Game over, drive safe, and we will see you next week.
