Notes

First Place

Spring Softcore Kickball at Lower Woodlands Thursdays

Ball Me Maybe, definitely were the comeback kids on this championship night. After falling behind by 9 runs after the 2nd inning, they very calmly chipped away at the lead before turning the tide fully in the 6th inning to complete the comeback and ultimately winning the semi final match. Not to be outdone by the first game, Ball Me Maybe again found themselves in a huge hole before they rallied with a big fifth inning to take the lead and then hold on for a one run victory. Reminiscent of the LA Kings in their quest for the Stanley Cup, Ball Me Maybe would never panic and they calmly played their game and booted their way to a championship!

Maggie Conlon

Ball me Maybe

Maggie was the epitome of competitiveness and sportsmanship. While a couple of calls could have gone either way against her at critical moments, she expressed her disagreement with the calls but continued to play with her head about her, never getting rid of her million dollar smile. With her team uncharacteristically struggling to make plays in the field, she seemed to right the ship in both games played by making great catches and heads up plays at second base. but above all that, Maggie was a terror at the plate and on the base path's as she helped engineer two big run deficit comebacks to win the championship!

Thursday, April 10

Nicole Belloli

Ball me Maybe

They that watched Ball me Maybe play on this glorious night may have witnessed the greatest play ever in Underdog Kickball history. Nicole playing right field was heard chasing a sinking liner that looked to sure split her and the right center fielder but as the ball began to slice back across her body she athletically dove back against her momentum to make a beautiful diving grab all the while losing her very hair(wig) from her head. When I approached her to award her player of the game, she humbly replied oh, I had a horrible game at the plate. That type of response shows how into the game she really is!
