The 'Iceman' represented his nickname well by throwing some stone-cold pitches and keeping the kickers cool in a big opening day double header. Game 1 was just a warm up for a breakout performance in the second game. Covering bunts from the mound and making some quick moves for a couple key catches kept his shutout performance going to the 4th inning. Offensively, Tony just kept blasting big kicks down the lines, usually for fouls, but in the 3rd inning he finally connected. A monster smash down the right field line that started left straightened out and somehow avoided the slice bouncing just inside the line for a 2-out RKI double. He eventually scored in what ended up being a game-changing 5 run rally for Swift Kick that helped carry them to an opening day victory.
