Runs Anybody? This championship game was all offense as both teams showed up with the big bats. With the final score being 20 to 16, it turned into a marathon on the base paths as players crossed home-plate 36 times in this game. All Home runs were used, and Mick Finster's Pub and Grill came out on top. Mick's jumped out to an early lead and in the 2nd and never gave it back, as Take It Off chased their opponent all night, and got close, but just not close enough. Mick's left the field with the Champ shirts on their backs! Great seasons to both teams! |

Rounding Third and Found Home Alot In the Starbucks championship showcased the two toughest teams in the league. With both squads full of outstanding players it made for a nail biting game to the end. The score was never more then a run most of the game, but Rounding Third made a late game rally and scored 8 runs and and took the biggest lead of the game of 5 runs. Aroma Brewers did everything they could in the bottom of the 7th but came up just short as Rounding Third walked with the Champions T-shirts. Great game and great seasons to both teams!! |

Great Defense wins Title for BEAN Ballbusters
In the Queen Anne leagues Soft Core division, the BEAN Ballbusters played great defense to hold off Your Mom Says Hello and win the championship, 5-4. They were led by Hey Luu who made several sparkling plays in the field and also added 2 hits.
The contest was well played by both teams, as defense ruled the day. After scoring 3 runs in the first inning, BEAN surrendered 2 in the second. They responed with 1 run in their half of the frame and another in the 3rd to take a 5-2 lead. Those runs came courtesy of hits by Luu and Chris Bloczynski. Your Mom Says Hello got close with 2 runs in the 4th to make it 5-4, but from that point on it was a defensive struggle. In the top of the 7th a 1 out walk put the tying run on base, but the next batter grounded into a beautifully turned double play that ended the game.
BEAN advanced to the Championship game with a 19-11 win over the Dugouts, Your Mom Says Hello advance via a forfeit.
Great Job BEAN Ballbusters, DEFENSE does win Championships! |

Here For More Than the Beer
In one of the best games of the season, Here For the Beer won their first Championship, beating a stubborn Dunder Mifflin 17-12.
The game went back and forth, with one team leading for a half inning, before the other team would regain the lead. On the strength of Bill De Bels pitching and some outstanding defense by Tyler McIntyre and Matt Orren, HFTB was able to hold Dunder Mifflin to 2 runs over the last 3 innings and secure the win.
On the offensive side, McIntyre, Orren and Andrea Noble had key hits in an 8 run 6th inning, helping HFTB pull away. Many of the hits were keyed by the threat of having to don the "duke", increasing hitting focus.
To get to Championship game, Here for the Beer avenged a regular season loss, beating Axis of Awesome, 9-3. In the meantime, Nick Fischer led Dunder Mifflin to a 22-7 win over Bottom of the 5th.
It was a long sought after win for Here for the Beer and set off a massive celebration in the nearby Greenlake streets (Well, maybe not, but they were real happy). The Tee Shirts are headed your way! Congratulations! |

Dashing Turtles Hang On
The Dashing Turtles scored some runs early and played great defense throughout the game for a nail biting 5-2 win. Making Progess played well in a valiant effort but just couldn't seem to come up with the big hit when they needed it. |

That's What SHE Said came out in the first and put up 5 runs early and never looked back. Both teams were armed with great defenses, but That's What SHE Said was able to find more grass and keep the lead all game. It was a great game with both teams showing why they were there with great plays, but No GLove NO Love fell short with the final score being 13 to 7 and a crowned champ! Great job to both teams! |

Where's My Shirts At In the second championship game on the day it was Where's My Pitches At who took came out on top. Playing a tough opponent, Team Awkward, who were thumping on their opponents all day were slowed by Where's My Pitch At. Where's My Pitches took their first lead in the 2nd inning and never gave it up, always staying a run or two ahead of Team Awkward. Jaz Adams was the offensive force with 4 homers on the day while also hitting for the cycle. Both teams showed few weaknesses, but it was Where's My Pitches At the showed the least in a great game! Great job to both teams! |

|
Didn't Lose the Farm In the first chipper of the day it was Smile Farm who jumped out early in the bottom of the first and set a good tone for their offense. Project Mayhem came in the undefeated team on the season, and were the team to beat. Both teams were focused and ready as there were few errors in the game and lots of great defense. Project Mayhem had the lead once in the game in the 4th inning, and Smile Farm jumped out in front in the 5th and never looked back. They slowed the offense down only allowing a run or two, and ending the game winners in a 15 to 9 game. Both teams made great plays, but it was Smile Farm who were able to string more hits together and walk with the Shirts! |
