Freeballers Hold Off Mojo For Title
Long passes and good defense preserves win

On a windy night at Jaunita, the Freeballers used a precision passing game and excellent goal line defense to win the Gentlemens Flag Football title, 35-25.
Ryan Beakins length of the field touchdown pass to Justin Anderson late in the 1st half gave the Freeballers a lead they would not relinquish. The TD pass came on first down and answered a Mojo touchdown just one play earlier. Beakins unloaded a long pass down the left sideline, Anderson was able to beat his defender and then made a sliding catch in the end zone, giving the Freeballers a 21-13 lead.
Mojo responded on their first drive of the 2nd half with touchdown, but the Freeballers goal line defense on the ensuing 2 point attempt kept the score at 21-19. Later in the half, the Freeballers tacked on 2 more touchdowns to make it 35-19. Mojo scored late in the game, but again couldn't convert on the PAT. The Freeballers then made a key 1st down to salt away the victory.
All Hail the Freeballers!
