Face off in the finals

Both Sets on the Beach and DOMIZON went undefeated during the regular season, but did not meet face to face until the finals. These two power house teams came ready to fight on this night of nights and made sure to keep things interesting.

After going 3-0 in every single one of their games DOMIZON walked into the gym ready to keep that record flawless. Shaina, the team captain made sure each one of her teammates was warmed up, pumped up and ready to do battle. As the match began it became obvious that DOMIZON had met their match and it would be a fight for the championship title. Sets on the Beach dominated game 1 25-15, leaving DOMIZON bewildered, but not defeated.

With a spirit lifting pep-talk from Shaina, DOMIZON headed back out onto the court to claim their victory. From massive spikes to saving digs, DOMIZON charged their way to a victorious 8-0 season and the title of Underdog Champions!

Second time's the charm

Both Passive Aggressive and TA were pumped up as they made their way from their semi-finals victories to the finals court. After some great regular season play, these teams placed 1st and 2nd in their playoff bracket so it was no surprise to find them face to face in the finals.

Passive Aggressive, a well versed team in underdog volleyball, found themselves in the championship game for the second time in two seasons. The last one did not go exactly as they planned and vowed that this time victory would be theirs. They put their game faces on and bumped, set and spiked their way to the title of Underdog Champions!

Thomas wins it all

Team Tom is a group of well seasoned players who met last season on an Indy team. During the regular season their team went 4-2 with losses to We Find Volleyball Enjoyable and Planet Volleywood. On Thursday night they started off the night with a semi-finals match against Planet Volleywood with a chance to settle the score. A mission they did not take lightly and completed with solid determination.

That win then faced them off with We Find Volleyball Enjoyable for another opportunity to redeem themselves. With no one else in the gym the two teams used the 90’s music as their muse. “Must have been love” was a particularly inspiring song for Team Tom, as they went on a 10 point run during its run time. Tommy, their teams “star player,” helped lead them to the defeat of both their competitors that night and title of Underdog Champions!
