In the days tightest game Lauren g. came up big to help her squad squeak out a win. Lauren stepped up to the plate at the end of the game and blasted a shot up the middle scoring the games winning run for a walk-off hit. The final score was 12 to 11 and Lauren's clutch hit was the difference maker! Great game Lauren!
Lots of fireworks in the 3:30 Saturday game. The Crows squared off with Seatown Juice in a match that literally came down to the very last run.With a nine run lead going into the top half of the 7th inning, Seatown Juice only needed to get three outs but that turned out to be harder than it seemed. The Crows just went on an absolute hitting tear nearly batting around twice and digging down deep when they needed it the most. Jed Thomspon was the hero of the day. His defense in the outfield also kept Seatown Juice from a couple of key hits they needed in order to score some insurance runs. He batted 4 for 5 on the day with a triple, 2 doubles, a single and 4 RBIs. Great game Jed and great come from behind win for the Crows.
Aaron G. earns this weeks POTW for his work at the plate in a 23 to 12 victory. Aaron not only checked in with numerous hits he also belted a homer to extend his squads lead and eventual big win over a dominate PB Army team. Great job Aaron!
PB Army was up to their winning ways again on Saturday. Squaring off against Zags and Balls in the 3:30 game it was quite the battle until the bottom of the 6th inning when with 2 outs and two runners on Karri stepped into the box. On the very first pitch she sees she smacks a liner down the left field line scoring two runners and sparking what would turn out to be an eight run inning. She was definitely the spark plug and its always a pleasure watching her on defense as well. Great win for PB Army and great performance from Karri!
PB Army just keeps on rolling. They were back at their winning ways again on Saturday at Hamlin Park against Zags and Balls. They got off to a slow start in the first couple of innings then the bats woke up. Led by Z Roy, Troy, Emily, Brent, D Bergin, Karri, they ripped off 13 runs over two innings and gave themselves some much needed breathing room going into the later innings. The top half of the 7th inning is where it happened. Hit, after hit, after hit and before you know it the game is out of reach. Good night, drive safe and we will see you next week. This weeks nominee for team of the week goes the Seatown Juice. They captured their first league title in grand fashion and they surely made a statement that they will contend for another title next season. I can feel the league heating up next season and i can sense the rivalry that is taking place before us. Great playoff performance!!
