This week in the Seattle winter gentleman's flag football league at Memorial Stadium on Saturdays, The Scranton Paper Slayers came out with a close victory in week 1 over This Aint What You Want 27-25. Alex Vaught was a key player in this win, unaffected by the rainy weather, with a big interception, a touchdown, and a 2 point conversion catch that proved to be the difference in the game. Good job Alex!

The Statdog wanted to give a shoutout to Mark Pepple for the special day he had on Saturday. Mark celebrated yet another birthday on Saturday and his teammates gave him a great gift; Victory. While the Player of the Week honors are under Mark's name, they really should go to the entire team, other than Mark. As the game unfolded, Pepple continued to drop passes but his teammates picked up the slack and pulled out a 28-26 victory.

The boys from Team Jacknut put together quite a performance this past Saturday as they won 38-19. Leading the way was Kyle Anderson who had two touchdowns and one interception on defense. Team Jacknut looks to be the favorites in the playoffs for the winter season.

This week in the Saturday Gentlemen's Flag Football league at Memorial Stadium Eli Bello led his team, Shipoopi, to the midcore championship. In the championship game Eli demonstrated precision passing and good decision making, racking up 4 passing touchdowns, 1 rushing touchdown, and an interception on defense. Eli really stepped up for the big game and was essential to his team's victory. Good job Eli!
