Summer Co-ed Softball at Greenlake Sundays

Between the both of them, Mark and Jake Rosenblum came up with one of the more memorable plays in Underdog Sports Leagues history. With a father and son combo, Mark knocked in Jake for the game winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, salvaging the second half of the Arbornauts doubleheader. The reason the play was so memorable was that in the first game of their double header, the game ended on a play at the plate with the potential tying run being thrown out at home. That made the winning run scoring in the bottom of the seventh in the second game that much more thrilling.

In the final game of the day, Rett Hartmann saved the best performance for last by hitting a grand slam in a 18-14 victory over Indiana Jones. It was quite a game between two fine teams as Way Off Base jumped out ahead early and looked to be in control, only to nearly be caught by the 6th inning. Then in the bottom of the sixth, Way Off Base pulled away and put the game out of reach.

After a lackluster regular season, Zango only made it into the upper division of the playoff round on reputation alone. But when the chips were down and the games ultimately counted, Zango put together two strong games yesterday. First, they knocked off Gemini 17-7 and then routed K.B.'s Crew 19-4 on the strength of a 15 run seventh inning. The man who led the way was Lyle Gardner. Lyle pitched two gems, most of which was after he injured his pitching arm early in the first game.
