Holds Off Late Surge by Super Stars

Hold My Beer is back in the saddle and riding hard if I must say. They have not skipped a beat between seasons and just have continued their domination and mastery of the game. This team is well coached, well balanced, well mannered and they are not intimidated by any team anywhere. Their pitching is quite delicious, their batting is overpowering and their base running and hustle is unmatched by most teams. It's going to be a long season so settle in, stay healthy and we'll see you guys and gals next week.

Upper Deckers Win Late

Berit Tomten's Walk Off Bomb Seals the Deal

In what turned out to be the game of the night, the Upper Deckers raised their level of play just another notch holding off the Manatees with some late game heroics. This game was close throughout with both teams trading heavy shots inning after inning. It all came down to the last inning and the Upper Deckers down a run in the bottom of the 7th. Having already scored one run to tie up the game and with one on Berit steps into the box. On the very first pitch she sees, she hammers the ball to straight away deep center field and out of the park scoring the winning run. Game over , good night, drive safe and we will see you next week.

Upper Deckers Keep On Winning

The Magic Continues

The Upper Deckers are ridin' their own wave now and looking like an unstoppable team. They have been reborn and recommitted and they are playing some of the best softball of their lives. Their undefeated record is no fluke and they are giving it to teams like I have never seen before from them. Through free agency they have upgraded and made some great business decisions that have paid dividends. Their pitching is stellar, their hitting is the best I have ever seen and more than anything they are playing together. Great win and great game Upper Deckers!!

Courtney H earns this week's Player of the Week award for a couple of outstanding defensive plays at the catcher position. She caught not 1, not 2, but 3 foul balls and called a great game all game. She also had a great day at the dish, knocking a few runners in and getting on base at a great clip.

Frank's Lil Sluggers just keep on winning. Week in and week out they simply get after it and in the end the score always favors them for some reason. That's because they are well balanced from top to bottom and well put together. From their defense, to their hitting to their chemistry, they are a very dangerous team to face.They are going to be a force for some time to come especially if they keep their team name so league teams beware. Great win and great game!!

Responsible Kids

Responsible Kid grabs first win in impressive fashion

Responsible Kids won their first game of the fall season in impressive fashion, 20-10. Using a 7 run first inning, the kids got off to a bnnig lead and were able to add insurance runs late to cap off a great win. The team defense was consistent throughout, highlighted by two double plays and spectacular fielding at the hot-corner. The Responsible Kids are a fun team that seems to be getting hot at the right time.

Lucas had a big day at the plate for Frank's Lil' Sluggers, using 2 of his teams three home runs, majestic blasts to the deepest parts of Lower Woodlands field 6, for crucial runs in a game the Upper Deckers tried hard to come back in. Lucas also brought it in the field like he does every night, the leader of an infield which allowed no runs in the first three innings!

The Ice Cold Pitchers stayed hot, winning their 4 straight game in dramatic fashion with a 17-16 win. Using timely hitting and great team defense late in the game, the Pitchers were able to fend off a strong rally from St. Johns for the victory. Geoff A. was a huge presence in the middle of the lineup, hitting 2 of the teams 3 HR's and adding the eventual game winning RBI on a single to second base.

Ice Cold Pitchers

The Ice Cold Pitchers were victorious in the game of the day 17-16. Holding a lead for a majority of the game, the Pitchers found themselves down 1 run in the 7th after a great rally from the All Stars. With 2 outs and a runner on first, still down 1, the Pitchers found themselves in a hole. The top of the lineup was able to string together 3 straight singles, capped by Jessica's walk-off single that sneaked in between the first baseman and right fielder. This is the 5th straight victory for the Pitchers and second straight 1 run win.
