GLG Pulls Off Late Comeback

Kevin's Late Inning Walk Off Single Seals the Deal

GLG is off to a fast start after knocking off a tough opponent in Sons of Pitches. This was a defensive battle throughout and with GLG down by a run in the last inning, with 2 on in steps Kevin to the batter's box. On the first pitch he sees, he rips a laser shot up the middle scoring the tying run and the winning run. Gamer over, good night, drive safe and we will see you all next week. This team fought until the very end and never gave up when things didn't look so good for them early on. Great first win and welcome to the bigs!

Sportin Jorts Gets Off To Good Start

Hold Off PBC Late

Well, the Jorts are in full effect and were on display last night with Sportin Jorts holding off powerhouse PBC late to get their first win of the season. The Jorts seem to be magical at times allowing the wearer to make outstanding ESPN top 10 like plays. Their defense was tested often and early but they held strong, responded in kind and as a result get their first win of the season. Their bats are hot, they always take their hustle pills and always looking to mix it up with the top teams. They fear no one and no team and when you get in the ring with them you will understand. Great game and great first win!

Upper Deckers Win Late

Berit Tomten's Walk Off Hit Seals The Deal

The Upper Deckers got off on the right track Tuesday night in grand fashion behind Berit Tomten's late walk off smash to deep left center field. Down by one run with 2 on and no outs Berit steps into the box. On the first pitch she sees, she smashes a shot deep to left center field over the head of the left fielder who was playing her shallow. Two runs across, game over, good night and drive safe. Congratulations Upper Deckers!

Edelman Looking Strong

Knock Off 7th Inning Flex Late

Edelman is definitely in the house and they are looking stronger than ever. Led by Christian Delgado's hot bat and some very delicious pitching, they dropped 6 large on 7th Inning Flex in the top half of the 5th. The defense got tighter with no holes for a ball to fall into and held on late to secure the much needed victory. Great game, great win and congratulations Christian for an outstanding night at the plate.

Sportin Jorts

Emily played great defense and locked down right field all day. Anything hit in her direction ended up in her glove as if drawn there magnetically. Along with the defense she had a couple mice hits on offense and ends up scoring a run. She was able to keep her team up too, even through their tough seventh inning that saw their opponents score five to make the game somewhat of a nail biter. She had a great day all around and this is why she's the player of the week.

Joe had a great game for Sons of Pitches, since every ball hit anywhere near his left field station was caught it seemed. Deep, shallow, left, right or a combination of them all, Joe was the man with the glove and reeled them in. Though the final score did not favor the SOP's, it would have been a lot worse if not for Joe's incredible glove.

Dewayne is always a fun guy to see out on the diamond, because you know you're gonna see 100% effort from a true sportsman. On Thursday Dewayne made some solid contact, lacing a particularly solid drive to right center field. He also played some good defense, in addition to leading his team as captain. By always trying to make the game more fun, players like Dewayne are one of the reasons I love umping Underdog games, and that earns him player of the week.

Tomten Gets 'Em All

In a back and forth affair against Basic Pitches, the Upper Deckers had their hands full against a powerful lineup always threatening to break it open. Enter Berit. Patrolling the expanses of left field at Bobby Morris, any ball hit her direction was invariably an out, Berit using perfect positioning and anticipation to turn massive drives into simple fly outs, which was huge in a game decided by only 3 runs.

Berit also brought solid hitting to the table and was instrumental in her team's victory. Her pick as player of the week was simply... Automatic.

Pitched by Cray was hot hot hot as they rolled to a solid 35-5 win. Everyone had a few big hits and solid defensive plays, but the player of the week goes to their catcher Reshonna. The entire game and especially when the game started to get out of hand, she was huge encouragement to the other team. She would congratulate them on hits and give positive words to new players. The team that is the Upper Deckers have suffered some growing pains the last few seasons and have been watching the championships from the side line season after season. They have finally put it all together and are dominating their universe like softball Gods and Goddesses. Their hitting, their base running and their pitching provides for a well balanced machine that is on a tear right now. This team is on fire right now so please beware when squaring off with them.
