Summer Co-ed Softball at Queen Anne Sundays

It was a day to remember for Mike S in his team's double header. You could even say it was almost perfect. Mike crushed a 2 run HR in the first inning of the first game and it set the tone for his day. At the end of game 1, he had gone 5/5 with 5 HRs. He started off the second game with 3 more HRs and finished the day 8/9 overall with 8 HRs. Impressive performance from Mike S!

Steven had a big day at the plate on Sunday, which helped his team the Sons of Pitches secure a 20-15 victory. With the game close in the early going, Steven came up to bat with the bases juiced. Steven rocked a liner over the outfield defense, clearing the bases for a grand slam and fueling a 7-run 3rd inning to open the flood gates. Steven finished the game with 4 hits and 7 runs batted in.

The Brewers appeared to have their hands full with We've got the Runs on Sunday at Magnolia, falling behind early 4-1 in the first. WGTR wouldn't score again until the 6th though, and Jeff Ching had a lot to do with that. Mr. Everywhere on defense, Jeff seemed to have an answer for every ball hit his way, playing the role of out-making machine for a good stretch of the contest. Holding an opponent scoreless for 4 innings is tough in Underdog, but Jeff and the Brewers got it done for the comeback win.

Sarah G. might have a new nickname after her grandslam for the Brewers on Sunday night. With her squad holding onto an adequate, but not definitive lead, Sarah came up to the plate in the 6th inning with the bases loaded and primed for her to deliver the final nail in the coffin. On a 2-1 pitch, Sarah swung on and belted a missile deep to left field, the ball rolling quickly past the outfielder, deep into the corner of the field. With her teammates losing their minds in the dugout, Sarah turned on the afterburners and raced home before the catcher could even make a play on the ball, delivering the decisive blow and capping off an 11-run inning for her squad.
