Western Gripped Knuckleballs
Opening Night is the best day to knock the rust off your swing. Six months of softball hibernation gets a lot of players starting the season slow, not Tim. Looking like Mid-Season form, he carried the hot bat Tuesday going 4-for-4 with a monstrous home run.

Jamie Fowler
Loco Locals
In a nail-biter of a game, Jamie came through late to help provide some much-needed insurance. In the bottom half of the sixth with her club up a couple of runs, Jamie cranked a triple to center to drive in a pair of runs and run Loco Locals lead to five runs. With the game ending 21-20, Jamie's big time blast was the difference in the game.

With the game in the balance, Andrew showed he had ice water in his veins as he nailed a clutch three-run home run. HIs late inning blast gave his squad an insurmountable lead and earned Pitch Slaps their first victory of the season. A fantastic blast from Andrew made the Player of the Week an easy choice this week.

Amanda Dootson Shines
The Designated Drinkers are firing on all cylinders so all other league teams beware. You will definitely need your A game when you go up against these guys. They are powerful at the plate, fundamental on the base pads and their defense is stellar. They ripped off eighteen runs on Tuesday night easily, scoring in every inning which is an indication of a very consistent team and a team that can score when they want to. It was a pleasure watching you guys play and we'll see you next week. Great game!

Seawalks Looking Strong
Team To Beat Maybe?
Seawalks are back again and they are firing on all cylinders. Their energy, their hustle and their togetherness has proven time and again that once they have these three things going for them, making them very hard to beat. It's not out of the question for them to throw up 35 runs in a game at any time. They produce runs early and often and if you get behind early you have a huge mountain to climb. Other teams in the league just be prepared to bring your A game when you square off with this team. Congrats Seawalks on yet another fine performance.

Upper Deckers On A Roll
Upper Deckers On A Roll
22 Runs Over 7 Innings
The Upper Deckers have gotten back to their winning ways and looked good doing it on Tuesday night. Led by the stellar pitching of "AJ" Joshi and the defensive prowess of Boyd Soderquist this team looks like the real deal again. They have struggled lately to produce runs and win games but Tuesday night it all came together as they pushed Hotline Swing to their limits and ultimately prevailed in an awesome show of hitting and base running. It's refreshing to see them back and running on all cylinders with the playoffs approaching. Great win and great game to both AJ and Boyd.

Team Finds A Way To Win
Only giving up one run during the game and with hot bats smoking, the Loco Locals took it to the Big Birds on Thursday night. Led by the awesome pitching performance of Dan, this team is looking good and looking to get in on the action for a league championship. Their bats are hot, their defense is solid and they are playing together which generally means that they are hard to beat. Dan also batted in multiple/critical runs to put Loco Locals ahead for good and they never looked back. It's always a pleasure watching this team play as they bring grit, hustle and bad assery to the diamond every time out. Great game Dan and great game Loco Locals.

Random Collision Rolls
Random Collision Rolls
Puts up 35 Runs In Win
Random Collision is finally rolling and firing on all cylinders. This team has been down lately for various reasons but Tuesday night they had a break out of epic proportions. Led by Lindsay Cowgill and her hot bat, they absolutely dominated the Upper Deckers and when it was all said and done 35 runs were across. I think that this team is peaking right now and will cause a problem for any teams that take them lightly. They seem to have all the right pieces in place to make a deep playoff run and they are looking like an uphill battle for any opposing teams. This league is deep and rich with talent and I know that it will all come down to who wants to title more. They have tasted the sweet victory of a title and they are going to give you all that they have in order to get another one. Great game Lindsay and great win Random Collision.

Thumps Basic Pitches In Season Ender
Well the league has finally come to and end and for some teams it was a frustrating season to say the least. A lot of teams grew up this season and a lot of teams made their mark in their inaugural season. The Big Birds have had a rough go the past few weeks but on Thursday night they shined brightly dominating Basic Pitches and scoring a season high 21 runs in the process. They had it going from the start led by Mary who ripped off a lead off inside the park home run. After that the flood gates opened. When it was all said and done, Big Birds dominated and walked off into the sunset with a season redeeming victory. Great game Mary and great win Big Birds!!

Pitcher's Throwing Error Seals The Deal
On Tuesday night we witnessed a softball game that is worthy of going down in the USL history books as one of the best and most exciting playoff game ever played. This game went back and forth to the very end and all of the action in between was off the charts. The game stayed close as both teams battled and in the end and just when it looked like Hotline Swing was going to get the victory, it happened. Down by a run, with two outs and two runners on a shot went back to the pitcher. As he fielded the ball, he turned off balance and hurried his throw to first which got by the first baseman allowing both runners to score. Chaos and elation ensued and Hotline Swing was advancing to the next round of the playoffs. Great win guys and girls and we will see you next week.

Come From Behind Win Advances Team
The Designated Drinkers are moving on to the next round of the playoffs thanks to some resiliency, belief and just good ole luck. After being down for most of the game and with their hopes dwindling, they some how found the on switch on their bats and then the tables turned. Down nine to five heading into the sixth inning they tied the ball game with a string of blasts scoring four runs and forcing Loco Locals back on their heels. After holding Loco Locals to no runs in the bottom half they responded again in the top half of the inning ripping off a quick three insurance runs. Loco Locals came back out firing in the bottom half of the inning ripping off two quick runs but it wasn't enough as the Designated Drinker defense took over recording the next two outs on two amazing defensive plays killing any hopes of a bottom of the inning dream comeback. Great run Loco Locals and congratulations to DD for moving on to the next round.

Too Much Firepower
Hotline Swing is moving on in the playoffs after smashing the No.1 seeded Serious Mountain Goats. From the start this team was ready, their energy was high and they didn't care about seeds they said. They came to win and this is what they ultimately did while putting on a batting clinic in the process. Led by Frankie Estep's 4 K's and George Karikas' towering 3 run bomb, this team was on a mission. SMG had no answer all game long and in the end the no.1 seed conceded because of too much firepower. Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this awesome win and we will see you in the next round.

Designated Drinkers Capture First League Title
Designated Drinkers Capture First League Title
Knocks Off No. 1 Seed
The Designated Drinkers in their inaugural season have captured their first league title. This team, very un-assuming and very low key, they had the firepower to knock off powerhouse Seawalks. From the beginning this team withstood everything the no.1 seed could throw at them and they handled it gracefully while mounting an assault of their own. They helped themselves out by playing lock down defense and being able to score in every inning. In the end their bats were just too much for the no.1 seed. Great game DD and congratulations on your first ever league title.

Team Effort Finally Pays Off
This team has been at it for about 6 seasons now and have now captured the elusive USL league crown. Lead by one of the tightest defenses and one of the best pitchers USL has ever seen, this team would not be denied. The final score of 3 to 1 indicates how much of a defensive and pitching battle this game turned out to be. Being able to score 3 runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning assured their first title as the defense went into total black out mode. Hotline Swing could get nothing going in the top half of the 7th inning and before you know it a new champion was crowned. Congratulations to the entire team for finally capturing your first league title.
