They Might Be Giants

At the end of week 3, No team questioned if Suzy Strelecky plays like a Giant. Suzy razzled and dazzled fans of all ages with her spectacular defense in right field (i.e., making a great running over the shoulder catch to end game 1, throwing out runners attempting to advance bases in game 2) and helped her team "They Might Be Giants" offense roll through their double header by scoring 54 runs!!! Congratulations Suzy for putting out the best all around performance and earning week 3's PLAYER OF THE WEEK!!!

Master Blasters

Joe Ross had a very special moment out on the Underdog Playfields on Sunday night. First, it was Joe's Birthday which made the day great, but than his son stopped by with his mommy for three innings to watch. In those three innings Joe hit 2 homeruns and had one double. You could see the happiness coming from Joe's face and the proudness of this little cute boy cheering on his father. Joe stated "did you see him, thats my son, I'm so happy he came for a few minutes". Joe went on to collect one more hit after his family left, helping his team to a 19-6 win. Great Job Joe!! and Happy Birthday.

Evergreen Escapes Geoducks

JC forgot to come up for air in this night to remember at Soundview. The first game he went 4 for 4 with a triple, and 3 singles. In the night cap he also went 4 for 4 but he had 3 inside the park homers and a double. When JC came to bat the fourth time he was breathing heavily, and stated " I'm offically tired" well with a night like yours it pays to be tired. Great job JC!!

This POTW really goes out to the entire team. After falling behind early in the game, they kept hanging around, playing good D and scratching out a run or two every inning. They finally broke through in the 6th inning with a couple of HR's and plated 7 runs to take the lead. A very well played game by both teams.

Evergreen Escapes Geoducks

Susan had a really stellar game behind the plate for the Geoducks against the Giants and at the plate. She helped break the game open in the top of the 2nd with a line shot to left over the head of the left fielder leading to 3 runs of the six scored in the inning. From that point on Evergreen Escapes was in total control and did not relent. Susan was the spark that started it all. Kudos to Susan the amazing Aussie catcher.

Margo was the fearless leader helping her team win the championship. She had timely hitting and some great defense when she had to fill in for a player who had to leave. This really is a player of the season award. Margo had great team spirit and was always friendly to the other team. Great Season led by Margo. Congrats to the GeoDucks!!
